The Rogue Workforce Partnership’s cornerstone strategy is our Sector Strategy approach — aligning industry, education, and workforce partners around the industries that drive Southern Oregon’s economy.

All of the sectors shown above are critical to regional economic health and are areas where we invest workforce training dollars. Some sectors are organized through formal sector partnerships, while others are supported through targeted strategies, cross-sector collaboration, and systems-level investment.

Vertical Industry Sectors

These five industry sectors convene active sector partnerships, bringing together employers, training providers, economic development partners, and workforce organizations to identify shared challenges and implement coordinated solutions.

Our current sector partnerships include:

These vertical sectors represent high-demand industries with clear career pathways, opportunities for family-wage employment, and strong potential for regional growth. Employers in these sectors collaborate directly to shape training programs, inform policy priorities, and strengthen the local talent pipeline.

Horizontal Industry Sectors

Some industries are major economic drivers for the Rogue Valley but are less suited to convening traditional sector partnerships due to their structure or workforce composition.

These horizontal sectors are supported through targeted workforce investments, employer-specific training strategies, cross-sector collaboration, and alignment with economic development initiatives.

Priority cross-cutting industries include:

While these industries may not convene formal sector partnerships, they remain a strategic priority for training investments and workforce system alignment.
