From the Event Description: This workshop will explore how FHI 360 is rapidly expanding access to three apprenticeships providing direct services in the care economy: the Youth Development Practitioner Apprenticeship, Peer Support Specialist Apprenticeship, and Substance-use Disorder and Mental Health Counselor Apprenticeship. Supported by the U.S. Department of Labor, the PLACE Hub offers employer members the chance to enroll new or current workers. What sets these apprenticeships apart is their focus on creating opportunities for individuals with lived experience to “pay it forward” using trauma-informed practices and positive youth development principles that support a whole-child approach, unlike traditional trades. Workshop participants will also learn how they or their partner organizations can get involved at little-to-no cost.
